Swimli Success Story
From Fear to Freedom
Every so often, a swimmer arrives with a goal so meaningful that it inspires the whole squad. One of our Swimli Squad members came to me earlier this year wanting to overcome her fear of the water and build real confidence. With her 50th birthday trip to the Seychelles approaching, she had one wish: to float and tread water in the ocean so she could fully enjoy paradise with her husband.
From day one, she showed up with clarity, commitment, and a determination to try her best. She knew that if she could feel safe and capable in the pool, she would bring the right mindset with her into open water.
At Swimli Squad, we focus on core competencies that build both confidence and skill:
Relaxing your body in the water – because you can’t swim well if you’re tense, scared, or fighting the water.
Breathing – finding your rhythm, controlling your exhale, and learning to calm your body.
Body position – how to float, lie back, stay buoyant, and tread water with less effort.
She completed two consecutive Swimli Squad courses, improving every single week. Her courage grew, her breath steadied, her body relaxed, and suddenly the water felt like a friend rather than something to fear.
Now she’s off to a beautiful island, ready to soak up the experience with confidence and joy.
Stories like hers remind me why I do what I do. Swimming is more than technique; it’s freedom, empowerment, and connection with nature.
