Expat Expo Experience
Last Saturday, I spent the day at Expat Expo Zürich, and what a day it was. With more than 1,000 visitors passing through, I was on my feet from start to finish, talking non-stop, sharing stories, and meeting people from every corner of the world. The energy was incredible.
I was genuinely touched by how many people complimented the Swimli branding, colours, and our rubber ducks! People went crazy for these little pink ducks that I ,truthfully, had ordered very last minute. I’ll know for next time to bring double! I managed to hold on to a few so if your currently enrolled in a course you may get a nice lucky duck surprise this week….
But really the most powerful takeaway from the day was something I heard again and again: Expats in Switzerland want to enjoy the lakes, rivers, and nature this country is famous for but many feel restricted by their swimming ability or water-safety knowledge.
And here’s the truth I shared with so many visitors: Swimming is for everyone. No matter your background, ethnicity, body type, age, or previous experience. Everyone deserves to feel safe, confident, and welcome in the water.
The Expo was exhausting in the best possible way, and it reminded me just how many people are looking for a supportive, inclusive space to learn (and free rubber ducks!).
I left inspired, grateful, and excited for what’s ahead. Our 2026 booking are fully open so if you have a friend, colleague, acquaintance, looking for lessons be sure to recommend YOUR club, Swimli.
